What Garage OS does.
Everything here is in the product today. What it doesn’t do is further down, because you should know that before you ask for a demo.
Today
Where each person starts the day: what is urgent, in order of severity, with new leads and preparation blockers beside it.
Vehicles
- One record for each car, entered by hand on a desktop or a phone, with Irish and UK registrations.
- Preparation status and sale status that change separately, so a car in preparation can still be advertised truthfully.
- Purchase cases for the cars you buy, trade-ins included.
- A cost ledger for each car, and a gross margin figure to steer by. VRT is a cost you record, not one Garage OS works out.
Workshop
- Jobs on the cars you are preparing, assigned to technicians, with target dates and blocked reasons.
- Bay Mode: a phone-friendly view for technicians, with notes, parts and sign-off.
- Parts requests, supplier orders, deliveries, supplier invoices and returns.
- Your suppliers in one place, with their prices and documents.
More about the workshop, parts and inventory, outside businesses and Garage OS on the phone.
Listings and portals
- A listing is approved by a person before anyone sees it.
- Approved cars appear on your public stock pages, with an enquiry form.
- A copy pack for posting by hand on portals such as DoneDeal and Carzone, with the advert’s address recorded afterwards. When a car is sold, a task reminds you to take the advert down.
Leads and sales
- Website enquiries and leads you log yourself, with stages, follow-ups, activity notes and an owner.
- Reservations with recorded deposits, sale records and trade-ins.
- A CSV of source records for your accountant, and a read-only accountant role.

Control
- Roles for each person, limits by branch, and an audit log.
- Costs and margin kept out of a technician’s view.
How Garage OS protects your records
What it does not do
- It doesn’t post to portals automatically. It has no connection to DoneDeal, Carzone or CarsIreland.
- It doesn’t look up a registration or a vehicle’s history. You type the details in.
- It doesn’t work out VRT or VAT, or file tax. Its margin is a gross figure.
- It doesn’t take payments or move money. A payment is something you record.
- It isn’t connected to a lender, an insurer or a phone system.
- It isn’t a repair-shop system. The workshop side prepares your own stock for sale.
- It doesn’t track NCT dates or book appointments.
What it does connect to today is on the integrations page.
