Know what every car is waiting for.
The Workshop in Garage OS is for preparing your own stock for sale: the jobs on each car, who has them, and what is holding them up. It isn’t a repair-shop system for customers’ cars.
The jobs board
- Every car in preparation on one board, grouped by preparation status or by technician.
- Cars in prep, blocked jobs, overdue work and tasks nobody has taken yet, counted at the top.
- Mechanical, valet, bodywork, tyres, NCT preparation and photography tasks.
- Assign a task to a technician, with a due date.
When a job is blocked
- A technician blocks a task with a reason: waiting for a part, more damage found, needs approval, a bay or tool unavailable, or waiting on another task.
- The board says what each blocked job is waiting for, and for how long.
- A manager marks it unblocked when the cause is cleared.
Finishing the work
- A task that needs sign-off goes to a manager, who approves it or returns it for rework, saying what needs doing.
- Notes and before-and-after photos stay with the task.
- Time logged against each task, and work done outside the garage recorded against the car.
From buying to the workshop
The preparation work planned when a car was bought arrives in the workshop, and one button turns it into tasks.
