Every car, one record.
In Garage OS each car you buy has one record, from the day you agree to buy it to the day you sell it. In the application this is the Vehicles workspace.
Your stock
- Every car on one line: odometer, asking price, sale and preparation status, days in stock and how many adverts are live.
- Search by registration, make or model, and filter by sale status, preparation, branch and age.
- Cars entered by hand on a desktop or a phone, with Irish and UK registrations.
Buying
- A purchase case for each car you buy, trade-ins included.
- Checks, inspection, valuation and offers recorded as you go, then the agreement with the seller.
- Settlement and payments to the seller recorded against the purchase, once a person has verified who is being paid. Garage OS records payments; it doesn’t make them.
- Transport booked and the car’s arrival recorded, then the preparation work sent on to the workshop in one step.
Preparation and sale status
- Preparation status and sale status change separately, so a car in preparation can still be advertised truthfully.
- A readiness view of each car’s preparation, linked to its jobs in the workshop.
Costs and margin
- A cost ledger for each car, with VRT, parts and labour as you record them.
- Nothing is edited away: a correction is added as a reversing entry.
- Asking price and gross margin side by side. VRT is a cost you record, not one Garage OS works out.
- Costs and margin kept out of a technician’s view.
Listings
- A listing is approved by a person before anyone sees it.
- Approved cars appear on your public stock pages, with an enquiry form.
- A copy pack for posting by hand on portals, with the advert’s address recorded afterwards, and a task to take the advert down when the car is sold.
