Work with outside businesses.
Some of the work on a car is done outside your garage, by a valeter, a photographer or a bodywork shop. Garage OS sends them the job through a portal of their own and brings their work back to the car.
Inviting a business
- Invite a business you already have as a supplier. Garage OS shows you an invitation code once, and you pass it on yourself.
- They sign in with their email address and a password. The first time, they enter the code, their legal name, VAT number and country.
- You can revoke an invitation, or their access, at any time.
Sending a job
- Send a task from the workshop: mechanical, valet, bodywork, tyres, NCT preparation or photography, with where the car is, instructions and a due date.
- They see the job and the car’s year, make, model and registration. They never see your stock, your costs or your customers.
- One business can work for several garages, with its jobs grouped by garage.
In the vendor portal
- They accept or decline each job, giving a reason if they want to.
- They start it, add photos or PDFs, and propose a cost with their own reference, such as an invoice number.
- They hand the work in once a cost is proposed.
When the work comes back
- Approve it, send it back, or cancel the job.
- Approving records the cost against the car as outside work, and their files join the car’s own, for your team.
- No money moves through Garage OS: paying the business stays between you and them.
